![]() Admittedly though it was my own lack of thinking (aka 'beer') that was the problem in the end.Īll went smoothly except i could not get HD sound. Just thought i would add my experience to this thread on th eoff chance that it saves someone the headache i've just been through. I can also get into Properties and there is no drivers. So it only shows up when I enable it in the BIOS, and yet I cannot install a new driver or uninstall it, though I can "disable" it. When I disable the HD Audio from the BIOS, it leaves me with no Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. So now I'm left with only the Audio Device on HD Audio Bus. Restarted the computer hoping windows will try to reinstall, nope, cannot find anything. (KB888111)įinally I found a way to uninstall all of the Legacy codecs etc except the Auido Device on HD thing. I got the latest setup driver from Realtek and tried to run it, it gives me the "Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure" everytime. Install new driver, it won't allow that either. All the Leagcy stuff has no uninstall option, the High Definition Audio Bus does have an uninstall option, but it does absolutely nothing. Funny thing is, I cannot uninstall any one of them. None of them has any drivers associated with it. After windows installation, it's got the typical Legacy codecs etc and "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" with a yellow exclamation mark. I'm running into a big problem with my Realtek HD Audio setup. ![]()
